El viernes por la noche, Madrid Swing Exchange nos trae a Aida, AiDJ, con sus temas favoritos, “swing del bueno”. Maestra de música y escuchando jazz en casa desde pequeña, tiene entre sus favoritas la música de Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Thelonius Monk, Paul Simon, Laura Marling o Jorge Drexler.
Le gusta leer la atmósfera de la sala, buscando los temas que mejor se adapten a los tempos más bailados. Fusionando lo mejor de los clásicos con un toque moderno, trata de fomentar la conexión entre música y movimiento.
Escucharemos desde los clásicos de Count Basie o Duke Ellington hasta comienzos del bebop con Charlie Parker. En sus listas también incluye música de mujeres del jazz como Mary Lou Williams o Hazel Scott

On Friday night, Madrid Swing Exchange has invited Aida, AiDJ, to play us her favourite “swing greats”. Having been listening to jazz from her earliest years, her all-time favourites are Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Thelonius Monk, Paul Simon, Laura Marling and Jorge Drexler.
She picks up on the feeling in the room and finds just the right song for the tempos you want to dance. It’s a fusion of the best classics with a modern touch, connecting music and movement to swirl you up and round and wherever you want to go.
Classics like Count Basie and Duke Ellington lead into the roots of bebop with Charlie Parker. Interspersed with the female genius of Mary Lou Williams and Hazel Scott. This is music to dance to. “It has to transmit the beat, but it also has to be well done.”
