Félix El Duende DJ

El domingo, para cerrar Madrid Swing Exchange, contaremos con Félix “El Duende” a los mandos de la música para bailar swing.

Con más de tres lustros de experiencia en radio y dos décadas como DJ, Félix ha construido una trayectoria marcada por la curiosidad musical y el amor por los sonidos con historia. Su programa más longevo, «La Ruta del Duende», y el más reciente «Blues en la noche» —centrado en el swing sin dejar de lado el Rhythm and Blues, el Doo Wop o el gospel— reflejan bien ese recorrido.

Sus inicios como pinchadiscos se remontan a la emblemática sesión «Viva las Vegas Club» de la sala Ya’sta, donde el retro R’n’R y el burlesque marcaban el ambiente. Fue allí donde descubrió el Lindy Hop, viendo bailar a alumnado de Blanco y Negro Studio. Años después, el swing volvió a cruzarse en su camino de forma decisiva, llevándole a pinchar en sociales y a seguir compartiendo su mirada musical, en ocasiones incluso con vinilos.

Festivales como ManzaSwing o Mojo Swing Tropical Fest, y asociaciones como MAD for Swing o Swing Alcalá, ya hemos contado con él. Y es que, para Félix, la música no es solo una afición: es el motor que atraviesa todo lo que hace.

On Sunday, to go out with a flourish at the Madrid Swing Exchange, we have Félix “El Duende” spinning the music for our swing finale.
With over fifteen years of radio experience and two decades as a DJ, Félix has built a career defined by musical curiosity and a love for sounds with a history. His longest-running program is «La Ruta del Duende», ,and his most recent, «Blues en la noche» , which focuses on swing while also embracing Rhythm and Blues, Doo Wop, and Gospel.
His beginnings as a DJ date back to the iconic «Viva las Vegas Club» sessions at the Ya’sta venue, where retro R’n’R and burlesque set the mood. It was there that he first discovered Lindy Hop, watching students from Blanco y Negro Studio take to the floor. Years later, swing crossed his path again, leading him to DJ at social dances and share his musical vision, occasionally even spinning original vinyl.
Festivals like ManzaSwing and Mojo Swing Tropical Fest, as well as associations like MAD for Swing and Swing Alcalá, have already featured him in their line-ups. For Félix, music is not just a hobby: it is the engine that drives everything he does.
“As I am DJing the finale of the Exchange, I’ll be selecting well-known songs, though some in little-known versions, and a few tracks that are less often heard at social dances. A swing set with a bit of a mischievous touch.”
That mischievous touch is what gave him his “el Duende” moniker. A duende can be a goblin… or can be that spirit that infuses music with that special something we look forward to enjoying on Sunday.
