Bababop y La Demo Swing Lab estrenan en Madrid Swing Exchange su show Flying Home by Bababop.
«Queremos transmitir al público lo potente que es la fuerza de grupo y al mismo tiempo la expresión individual, la improvisación o el juego, todos ellos valores del jazz.» En la coreografía, dirigida por Gurutz Larrea, expresan el amor que sienten por esa música y baile y lo importante de generar comunidad.
11 personas en el escenario que bailan para nosotras un conocido standard de jazz y han disfrutado del viaje completo: desde la difícil elección de la canción, hasta el intercambio de ideas en la fase de creación, el compañerismo y el esfuerzo compartido durante los ensayos, las risas y los momentos de convivencia, culminando todo en la emoción de transmitir eso en directo el día del show.

“What we want the public to absorb is the powerful combination of group force, individual expression, improvisation and playfulness: all key values in jazz. The choreography is directed by Gurutz Larrea, and expresses the love we feel for this music and dance, and how important it is to generate a sense of community.”
The 11 group members onstage dance a well-known jazz standard, the outcome of a long and gratifying journey. It began with the choice of song (tough indeed), developed as they brainstormed their creative ideas, after which they shared the hard slog of rehearsals, the laughter and the complicity, only to culminate in the emotional experience of transmitting all the learnings from this process as they perform their show live for our Exchange.
If you’d like to choreograph something special, here’s their tip: “Enjoy the entire process, from its initial creation to the day you perform it. Listen to masses of music to inspire you and go see other performers; but seek out their essence. And finally, when you work up the choreography, let simplicity be your friend.”
