Red is the name of the show Elisabet Montllor will present at the Madrid Swing Exchange

It showcases choreographic elements brought into our experience of the present and directed by her own experimentation and expression of musical notes and instruments, extracting the character of each musician while the show is ongoing. Although not set in stone, there’s a clear structure to it, as The Sentimental Gentlemen do their own thing, and so does she.

It’s an honour to improvise alongside great musicians and to be part of what they do. Feeling the connection is like floating: amazing! And it’s an opportunity to put across my love for the audience in real time!”

She stops there, thinks, then says:
“But don’t let them get their hopes too high!”

Her freestyle approach is inspired by artists as varied as Pina Bausch, Lola Flores, Isadora Duncan, Maurice Béjart, Nureyev, Balanchine, Bob Fosse, Chester Whitmore, Nicholas Brothers, Michael Jackson, Dominique Merci, Martha Graham, Marie Wigman, Louie Füller and Marie Bryant (amongst others!).
