Compact Jazz
Laura Carrasco, profesora de Compact Jazz, llega al Madrid Swing Exchange con una clase de solo jazz titulada “Norma’s Favourite”.
Un homenaje a Norma Miller, referente del swing y bailarina emprendedora que, como Laura, impulsó sus propios proyectos y se nutrió de múltiples influencias.
Hoy en día puedes encontrar a Laura en su escuela Compact Jazz, donde Lindy Hop, Solo Jazz, Soul y House conviven y se mezclan, creando un espacio donde cada estilo suma y enriquece al resto; más allá de su escuela, colabora con Swing Ciudad Real y con los Centros Culturales Paco Rabal y Pilar Miró.
Ese espíritu también se vive en “El Tinglao”, la fiesta temática con la que suelen cerrar el curso o celebrar ocasiones especiales: talleres de baile, música en directo, shows y mucho baile social en una misma pista.

Her own tribute to the legendary Norma Miller, a swing icon and entrepreneurial dancer who, much like Laura, championed her own projects and drew inspiration from a wide range of influences.
Nowadays, you can find Laura at her school, Compact Jazz, where Lindy Hop, Solo Jazz, Soul and House coexist and intertwine. She creates a space where each style complements and enriches the others. Beyond her own studio, she also works with Swing Ciudad Real and the Paco Rabal and Pilar Miró Cultural Centres.
That same spirit comes to life in “El Tinglao,” a themed party used to wrap up the term or celebrate special occasions. The event brings everything together on one dance floor: dance workshops, live music, shows and plenty of social dancing.
