Lisi, blusera madrileña, nos dará en la noche del jueves de Madrid Swing Exchange, una pincelada de sus gustos eclécticos, con brochazos de clásicos y modernos y especial atención a las mujeres del blues de todos los tiempos.: como Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Lil Green, Big Mama Thornton, Koko Taylor y sin dejar atrás a Imelda May, Madeleine Peyroux o Melody Gardot
No faltarán mezclas desde las raíces del blues como son Work songs o artistas cuya esencia maliense está impregnada en sus forma de componer como Ali Farka Touré, Boubacar Traoré.
Una pinchada para quienes quienes tengan interés en bailar el mejor blues o incluso slow swing, como has podido oír en anteriores sesiones suyas para MAD for Swing y otras sin ánimo de lucro “en beneficio de esta preciosa comunidad”
DJ Lisi will give us a night to remember at the Madrid Swing Exchange. Her eclectic collection will delight us with great classics, interspersed by the best of current music trends, and female blues singers, like Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Lil Green, Big Mama Thornton, Koko Taylor in pride of place… not to mention Imelda May, Madeleine Peyroux o Melody Gardot.
She digs back into the often unknown history of blues, with Work Songs (once sung by the enslaved but now danced by the free) and the essentially Mali sound of Ali Farka Touré, Boubacar Traoré.
Her first love was blues, but she enjoys the Lindy Hop beat, and declares that, above all, she wants to contribute to “this beautiful non-commercial dance community.” Here in Madrid, we’re lucky to experience that special magic she brings, as her sounds move us to her groove.
