Madrid Swing Exchange 2026: Cartel en homenaje al Savoy Ballroom en su centenario
Presentamos el cartel oficial del Madrid Swing Exchange 2026, creado por Berny Art, y que introduce el gran tema del festival para este año: El Savoy Ballroom, celebrando el centenario de su inauguración en Harlem, Nueva York, en 1926. El Savoy fue mucho más que una sala de baile: durante décadas fue el centro mundial del swing, la diversidad y el encuentro social y artístico. Allí se originaron pasos icónicos, se formaron leyendas y el Lindy Hop encontró su hogar.
Para rendir homenaje a esa historia, el cartel reúne a algunas de las personas más emblemáticas que dieron vida al Savoy Ballroom: pioneras y pioneros que cambiaron la forma de bailar, crearon nuevos estilos y dejaron huella en la cultura del swing. Queremos invitarte a descubrir quiénes aparecen en la ilustración; no revelamos sus nombres, pero te compartimos pistas para reconocerlas:
Por cierto, Berny se ha tomado la licencia de incluir dos que no está documentado que bailaran en la icónica sala, más que nada por la distancia entre su ciudad de actuaciones y el Harlem. Pero ¿quién les deja fuera en esta colección de estrellas?
- Revolucionó el Lindy Hop con el primer “aéreo” y fue coreógrafo de películas míticas de swing.
- Bailarín del famoso Shim Sham en el Savoy y estrella en soundies y filmes de los años 30 y 40.
- Famosa por su energía y por iniciar los primeros pasos acrobáticos en el Lindy Hop.
- Gran mujer, parte de una pareja legendaria que destacó en los movimientos acrobáticos de la sala.
- Ganó el Harvest Moon Ball y ayudó a revivir el Lindy Hop en los años 80.
- Figura clave asociada al origen del nombre “Lindy Hop” y a un paso célebre que lleva su apodo.
- Referente del Hollywood Style, famosa por sus “swivels” en películas clásicas junto a su pareja habitual.
- Bailarín y coreógrafo del Lindy Hop en la industria del cine, protagonista de numerosos filmes.
- “La reina del swing”, coreógrafa, comediante y escritora que narró la historia del Savoy y del Lindy Hop.
Este cartel quiere ser una puerta de entrada a la historia del Savoy Ballroom y a las personas que lo llenaron de música y movimiento.
Madrid Swing Exchange 2026 será una fiesta con historia, cultura y baile, dedicada al legado vibrante del Savoy Ballroom en sus 100 años.

Madrid Swing Exchange 2026: Official Poster celebrating the Savoy Ballroom centenary
We proudly present the official 2026 Madrid Swing Exchange poster, created by Berny Art, equally proudly introducing the theme for this year’s festival: the centenary of the1926 Savoy Ballroom opening in Harlem, New York,.
The Savoy was much more than just a dance floor. For decades it was the world centre for swing, where all kinds of people could get together away from the social or artistic constraints of the times. It generated iconic choreography, a springboard for innovators in music and dance. And thus became known as home to Lindy Hop.
It was history in the making. Our poster brings together the stars who made the Savoy Ballroom such a special experience: pioneers who changed the way people danced, adding personal touches that started new trends on the Swing Scene. See if you can spot them all! We won’t tell you their names, but we will allow you some clues to identify them.
Berny’s artistic licence allowed him to include two who aren’t recorded as actually being in the ballroom, and probably weren’t, given the distance between where they lived and Harlem. But how could we leave them out of this walk of fame?
- He revolutionised Lindy Hop with the first air steps and choreographed some legendary swing movies.
- Danced the famous Shim Sham at the Savoy and starred in several soundies during the Thirties and Forties.
- Famous for her energy and for initiating the first acrobatic steps in Lindy Hop.
- Half the star couple whose acrobatics lit up the ballroom.
- Won the Harvest Moon Ball and helped revive Lindy Hop in the Eighties.
- A key figure associated with the origins of the name “Lindy Hop”, who gave his nickname to a step we still dance.
- The epitome of the Hollywood style, famous for her swivels in classic films, along with her habitual partner.
- Dancer and choreographer for Lindy Hop in the movie business as well as starring in several films.
- “The Queen of Swing”, choreographer, comedian and writer, who set down the fascinating story of the Savoy and Lindy Hop.
This poster opens the doors onto the history of the Savoy Ballroom and the people who filled it with music and movement.
