If there is something Madrid, as a city, can be proud of is that it’s full of cultural activities. Since this is one of its great attractions, it has in store lots of different venues to promote the arts and culture. This being so, we feel very lucky because we will celebrate Friday and Saturday’s parties for the 6th Madrid Lindy Exchange in one of them: Círculo de Bellas Artes.

Círculo de Bellas Artes (CBA) is a cultural non-profit private organization declared as an “Arts protection and public use centre” and MAD for Swing has decided to celebrate Friday and Saturday’s parties in one of its most charming rooms, la Sala de Columnas, which also served as our dance spot for the 4th Madrid Lindy Exchange’s Saturday’s party in 2017. Even though CBA was founded in 1880 with the mission of promoting and spreading culture across the city, it didn’t move to its current location, a unique building in Madrid’s city centre, until 1926. Within its walls, one can find activities that range from plastic arts to literature, science, philosophy, cinema and performing arts. The very essence of the 6th Madrid Lindy Exchange, –its spirit of interchange, dialogue, social meeting and artistic expression–, fits in perfectly with what CBA symbolises; that is, an open attitude towards the most prominent and innovative art forms.

Madrid’s swing community can’t wait to dance in this wonderful space again and share with our visitors a piece of the city’s cultural history.
